Saturday Blue Water Weekend Event – Steam Train Ride Through the Redwood Forest
Saturday Oct 11 2014 - 11:00 am
Blue Water Weekend is an annual event; a celebration of the life and music of John Denver, while sharing the beauty and wonders of the Monterey Bay Area where he lived.
Ride a steam train through a beautiful redwood forest! This is the location of the photo shoot for the album cover of John Denver’s “All Aboard” album; and a really cool way to view a California coastal redwood forest (Hint #1 – if some in your vehicle wish to walk through the forest, park at the Roaring Camp parking lot and go together to the train depot. The State Park visitor’s center and the Redwood Grove Loop Trail is right there next to the train depot). (Hint #2 – plan to arrive EARLY. Allow extra time to navigate rural roads and extra time to pick up your ticket before the train departs at 11:00)
