When You Are Having Fun!

5 January 2018

I distinctly remember the time that my Dad told me…….

“Someday, young lady, you are going to wish life would slow down.  The older you get, the faster it goes.”

I guess I made a comment about wishing I was grown up, and my dad took that opportunity to warn me that growing up comes all too soon, and growing old follows quickly.  I was just a fresh faced high school student at the time, ready to take on the world.

Now it’s 2018….when did that happen?  It was such a short while ago when I was complaining about wanting to grow up, and now I’m “grown up” enough to order from the senior selections at a restaurant!  AARP frequently sends me mail, trying to get me to join their club and I’m still resisting!!  I’m not ready for retirement yet!!!

Is it true that time flies if you’re having fun?  If so, I must have been having a BLAST!!   I hope you are all out there having fun!  Of course, it’s not all perfect  –  but if my dad was still here to advise me, I’m pretty sure he would encourage me to focus on the fun and enjoy life as much as possible.

Happy 2018 everyone!  This year I’m looking forward to bringing as much happiness into this world as I possibly can, through the music of John Denver.  Hopefully we can ALL do a little bit more to make living more fun, and someday (not too soon!) we can all take a look back and see how short and sweet our lives have been.

Thank You Mona Moen for These Fun Hats!

That was a beautiful commentary for the New Year. Thank you. I needed that. 🙂

PS: Go for the AARP card. You get 15% off your meals at Denny’s with it. 😛

Yippieee!!!! You know, musicians spend a lot of time at Denny’s because it’s usually the only place open after a concert! I might have to reconsider that AARP card, I’ll keep everyone posted!

Can’t wait to see you in Panama City. We’re bringing another couple for their birthdays. Then we’re seeing you again this summer at Walters’ Dinner Tneatre. We might be considered groupies!

  6. Posted by: Anne

Wow!! You certainly might be considered the groupies that travel the most to see us! Lol! But we do have a lot of well traveled groupies so maybe not! We are looking forward to our first time in Panama City and most certainly are looking forward to returning to Walter’s, what a great place! Thanks for supporting us by attending our concerts and thank you for writing!

I am so happy to see you are coming to Michigan again. I am planning to come see you and bring my friend that loves John Denver music. I have remarried and he is a singer also–been singing all his live but mostly for enjoyment.

Hi Bob! Yes I remember the fire drill in Detroit! I’ll have to write a blog about that! We will get the info for tickets as soon as we have the information….I think this is going to be a fundraiser for the symphony, but the symphony will not be playing with us in this show…too bad 🙁

OMG, Anne, Bill & I were just talking the other day about how in the heck could it be 2018 already?? Where has time gone?? Your dad had good advice.

Hope to see you in Michigan, or somewhere else sooner. Keep your fingers crossed! At least we had some time with you guys in Aspen. Loved that! Hugs to both of you, and Diane, too!

"It was an amazing evening. We have had many different performers at our conferences; The Beach Boys, Tony Bennett, Three Dog Night, America. Jim Curry ranks among these acts. I would book Jim and his band again in a heartbeat."

Daniel Young

"As John Denver's former drummer and percussionist, working with Jim Curry has kept alive for me how it was playing with John. Jim has stayed true to John’s music and vision. It is a pleasure working with Jim and Anne Curry."
