“Fare Thee Well, 2020 and Fare Thee Well, Monthly Newsletter”

29 December 2020

What a year!

2020 started out with such promise, the world was our oyster (whatever that means…..) and we were so excited!  This was to be the best year ever for us, we had almost fully booked our calendar, including 3 tours and 4 symphony orchestras!

Then there was Covid……

All of the gigs we had lined up were postponed, some were postponed several times.  Our calendar was a mess, flights were cancelled, rebooked and cancelled again.  A few venues made attempts to do shows with Covid restrictions (masks and social distancing and very limited seating) but most promoters now have stopped promoting and most Performing Art Centers have closed their doors until further notice.

We were pretty certain that we would be getting back to a regular show schedule in 2021, but Covid had other plans.  It’s looking like it will be June or July before concerts can begin taking place again, but it won’t be meaningful employment for us until the restrictions are lifted and no one knows how long that will take.

Jim and I need to look for every way to cut our expenses.  One of the monthly expenses that we will be cutting is the service that we use for sending out our newsletter.  That means our newsletters will be discontinued and our primary way of communication will be through our website, blog and other social media.

Be sure to visit our website often to note any last-minute changes.  I will list upcoming concerts in the monthly blog AND on the “Concert Listings” tab on our website home page.

Most importantly: please stay safe!  God Bless you all and Happy New Year!

Here are our up-coming concerts:

Oh how I will miss seeing your newsletter each month. I loved reading through to see what you two were up to and hope to see you would be in my area for a concert.

It’s a SHAME that “covid” has done this to your business and those like you. It’s not necessary as I have found out. The “virus” isn’t real; it’s a control issue by the government. My heart is broken that you and Jim are in this situation. It’s your livelihood that brought joy to many hearts.

I have been a John Denver fan since I was able to handle a guitar. I learned to play on his music. I never got a chance to see him in concert. Seeing Jim and your wonderful band (and you too Annie), brought John to LIFE for me! The two CDs I bought are in my “library” at work and I love listening to them whenever I can. I enjoy the original songs Jim came up with (my favorite is “Homegrown Tomatoes”).

My constant prayer is that this situation will be lifted and you and everyone else like you can go back to work – to entertain and brighten a world that needs your music, not just John Denver’s, but your talents as well.
